May mga ipinakitang supporting documents ang pamunuan ng ABS CBN tungkol sa paghingi ng assistance o tulong sa kapulisyahan ng Pasig City Hall. Ayon sa ABS CBN, ito ay dahil sa ini- expect na humigit kumulang na 30,000 katao ang maaaring magpunta sa unang anibersaryo ng programang Wowowee. It was stated that somewhere in the middle of January, the management of ABS CBN gave the letter to Pasig PNP Office.
I just want to ask, why is it that when protests of about 5,000 persons are held in any point of Manila, even if there is no letter given to the PNP Officials, police comes to the place of rally and have it dispersed. Certainly, there is something wrong.
Kung sinabi siguro ng ABS CBN na rally ang mangyayari kontra kay Gloria Macapagal- Arroyo, aba! Baka lahat ng pulis ang papuntahin agad- agad.
May mga pulitikong masyadong ma- papel sa pagkakataong ito, pero ni- isang kusing o kahit ano, wala namang naitulong... surely, this is a big chance for them to show their virtuousness, kahit na wala naman sila noon.
Nagulat nga ako sa sagot ni Noli de Castro ng tanungin siya ng mga reporters kung may tutulong ba ang gobyerno sa nangyari... He abruptly said, ‘No! ABS CBN should shoulder everything’, Sang- ayon ako sa sinabi niyang ABS CBN ang dapat na gumastos sa lahat ng danyos na nangyari, but what I’m against is when he said that the government will not help... My god! Majority of the people who went there are those living below poverty level, kung saan hindi mabigyan ng pamahalaan o ng ating gobyerno ng konkretong solusyon.
Wowowee and ABS CBN Management
Clearly, there is negligence, exerted by the Wowowee show and the ABS CBN Management itself in this accident. Naniniwala akong kahit ng nag- submit sila ng request sa PNP Office ng Pasig City Hall, nang wala pa rin silang nakitang mga pulis na naka- deploy, they should’ve followed it up to the PNP station.
This could’ve been a good chance for ABS CBN to challenge GMA 7’s Eat Bulaga in terms of ratings. Ito na sana ang pagkakataon para maka- una ang Wowowee sa Eat Bulaga, but then, everything has changed. Right now, assurance that Wowowee would still be aired may not be possible because of what had happen.
ABS CBN has been in the forefront of this tragedy since day one. They have pledged everything to make victim’s lives less sorrowful (if they could lessen the pain). All expenses incurred by this tragedy will be charged to the network company. Tama lang naman ang ginawa nilang ito. May mga taong nagsasabing kulang pa ang kanilang ginagawa, mayroon din namang nagsasabing sobra- sobra na.
Nabasa ko sa isang dyaryo ang tungkol sa isang biktima na taga- Alitagtag, Batangas. His wife died in the stampede. But, what was different is that he was crying when he was interviewed, he was solely, thanking the ABS CBN for the help they gave the family. I’d like to quote him, ‘Sa hirap ng buhay ngayon, lubos akong nagpapasalamat sa pagtulong nila sa amin... mula sa pagpapalibing hanggang sa pangkabuhayan.’ What the man said really struck me. Ganito na ba ang lipunang ginagalawan natin? Siguro nga kailangan na nating maging praktikal.
30,000 Values; 74 died
A psychologist said, ‘Hindi na ito basta kahirapan, pagkasakim na ito’. I really want to kill the psychologist who made this remark when asked about the people’s behavior in this contest. She was not in the place of the incident like me, how come she could say those words?
Upon watching and reading what had happen in ULTRA, naniniwala akong hindi pagkasakim ang nagpapunta sa kanila sa kapahamakan. It is accident and simple fate. People are destined to die. Be it an accident or not, we, people are destined to die. No one can prevent it from happening, even if you are prepared, you will die...
Kaya nga hindi rin ako naniniwala sa konsepto ng ‘easy money’, but I believe in ‘luck’. Magkakapera ka, pero ito ay dahil sa mga ginagawa mo... Kung hindi ka araw- araw tataya sa lotto, tatama ka ba? Kung hindi ka bibili ng sweepstakes ticket, tatama ka rin ba? Kung hindi ka pipila sa Pera o Bayong, may pag- asa ka bang manalo? WALA... wala kang pag- asang maiahon sa kahirapan ang iyong mga mahal sa buhay. Kahit sugal, pinaghihirapan...
I would like to make an appeal to those people who say that those who were there were selfish... NO!!! They’re not. They just want the best or their love ones. Para sa iba, ito lang ang kaya nilang gawin. Naniniwala ako sa kanila.
